Graduated License...

  • Teenagers between 15 and 17 years old must go through a process called graduated licensing before receiving full driving privileges in North Carolina.

  • Graduated licensing involves strict requirements for teen drivers to gain the on-the-road experience necessary to drive a vehicle with no supervision and minimal restrictions.

  • To be eligible, an individual must be at least 15 years old and have received a Driving Eligibility Certificate and a Driver’s Education Certificate from an approved driver education course.
